Mark Anderson

Partner

As co-founder of the firm, Mr. Anderson has a wide-range of experience in foreclosure and foreclosure defense, federal litigation, appeals, construction law, consumer and corporate bankruptcy, and other real estate litigation. Mr. Anderson has successfully conducted trials in several courts throughout New York City and States of New York, Maryland, and many other federal courts across the country; he has argued numerous successful appeals in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York; and obtained millions of dollars in settlements for his clients. He is licensed in the state of New York, has his federal bar in both the Southern and Eastern Districts for the State of New York, and has been admitted pro hac vice in numerous other jurisdictions across the country. 

Mr. Anderson is native of Minnesota. After attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he worked as Chief of Staff and Media Relations Director at the Wisconsin State Legislature, where he was instrumental in negotiating, crafting and implementing new and improved state laws. At the University of Baltimore School of Law, Mr. Anderson was a member of the successful J. Braxton Craven Moot Court Team, was Associate Editor for the journal Law Forum, was a supervising Teaching Assistant for the school’s Legal Research and Writing Class, and acted as Research Assistant and Editor for faculty writings that appeared in national publications, which included American Law Review, The Nation, and The Atlantic.

Mr. Anderson has been lead counsel on multiple high profile cases that were profiled in such publications as The Real Deal and Law 360 and has appeared on national television and radio networks, including National Public Radio and Jus Hindi. Mr. Anderson writes extensively for the firm on numerous real estate issues and has been published by the New York Real Property Law Journal. Mr. Anderson has also given numerous seminars on various real estate issues and has been a keynote speaker for a statewide litigation panel. 

Before forming Shiryak, Bowman, Anderson, Gill and Kadochnikov LLP, Mr. Anderson founded the law firm Anderson Shen P.C. and Anderson, Bowman & Zalewski PLLC; he was counsel for the Howard County Office of the Public Defender in Maryland; and was an associate with the firm Steven Zalewski and Associates in Queens, New York.
